This is a mans gun-Smith & Wesson 3rd Model Russian in 44cal russian (obsolete)
The gun has been period and profesionaly cut down to gun fighter size.
Metal shows about 20% original nickel and the rest to grey patina with no pitting.
4" barrel with good rifling and no pitting, good crisp action, faux ivory grips.
The spur has been removed from the trigger guard and the lanyard ring is missing.
Serial number 5865 and the date 1874 on grip strap.
Top of barrel is marked- 24.65.JULY 11.65. AUG 24.69. JAN 19. 1875. REISSUE JULY 25. 1871.
