Description
ST. Ettenne model 1874 French 11mm Officer's revolver .
This revolver is unusual in that at the time it was produced it was nickle plated and still has at least 95% most if not all the other 3,901 officer model's would have been deliverd to there new owner's blued ,As was the custom at the time the officer's had to buy there own pistol's so ether the owner of this revolver was important or he thought he was to have orderd the nickle plateing,
This revolver was produced in 1875 the second year of production one of 3,902 that year and one of only 37,200 intotal produced between 1874 & 1886 as opposed to 334,852 of the more common 1873 model Camelot Delvigne so represents quite a rarity in it's self,
for a revolver that is over 130 year's old it is in remakable good condition and works well in both single and double action,
This is an obsolete calibre and as such can be held under uk law 58(2)

Ask Seller a Question
Question
Hi there,I have noticed thet on one of your pictures that the hammer does not lie flat on the frame although it is not on half cock Is there any exess wear in the mechanism or is the pin just resting on another case?
Answer
In the picture with the case half in the hammer is indeed resting on another case the trigger mechanism works fine. In the same photo the M stamp above the grip indicates at some time in the guns life it actually was returned to the armoury for work to be carried out to it
Question
Hi. What condition are the grips in? The right one seems to have a few minor handling marks but I cannot see the left one at all. Also how clear are the markings? Were they added after it was nickel plated?
Answer
Hi, Thanks for the question. The grips are in good condition for a pistol that is in excess of 125 years old, with just a couple of small marks on the left hand side. The chequering in most is crisp on both sides and as for the markings they appear extreemly clear on both sides of the gun and I would say that they are original to the date of the gun, so I am unable to say whether they were added before or after nickel plating.
