An H&R .442 centre-fire double-action only revolver, in very good condition. The 2 1/2" octagonal barrel has strong rifling, with minor pitting confined to one area. The gutta-percha grips are intact; no chips or cracks. The action is in good working order. The loading gate opens and closes crisply. The gun field-strips easily by pressing on the lever at the front of the frame, and removing the base-pin. The cylinder can then be rolled out through the loading gate. The topstrap has the words: THE AMERICAN, and DOUBLE ACTION impressed into it, and the barrel has the company name and location stamped.
