MODEL 1883 REICHS REVOLVER made by DREYSE
Six shot,
Single action,
Caliber 10.6 German Ordnance, obsolete no licence needed.
Often called the officers model this is a reichs revolver from one of the rarer makers of reichs revolvers. F.DREYSE of Soemmerda.
This one has the Prussian eagle mark so was bought for the Prussian army. All markings and serial numbers are crisp, every number matches on this gun including all screw heads, cylinder, frame, barrel, safty catch, cylinder pin, e.t.c
Also has 2 different unit markings on the back strap.
The original lanyard ring is in place too which is quite rare for these, for some reason they are often missing off Reichsrevolvers! The wood grips are very nice, no chips.
The action is perfect and as new, real tight lockup, the safty works perfect.
The chamers are as new with mirroe finish and no marks. The bore also has a mirroe finish with crisp rifling, only the hint of a bit of ultra light rough that would most likely scrub to brand new. A mint bore!!!!!!
The gun has a wonderful smoot brown patina finish with no pitting, there can be found the odd small patch of original blue in protected areas.
Many thanks for looking, any questions are welcome.
