An assisted opening stiletto. These are opened with the flipper on top of the blade, and the mechanism fires the blade to full lock. The difference between these knives and automatic, or flick knives, is the lack of a button or trigger; the blade has to be started manually. This has a great advantage over normal lock-knives, in that they can be opened much more easily in cold, wet conditions, even with thicj gloves on.
