Obsolete Calibre - No licence required in UK
There are very few semi automatic pistols that may be owned in the UK
without a licence, but Charles Clement's rare 5mm introduced in 1903 is
one of them. Clement designed this pistol to chamber the 5mm Charola
Anitua round, and his pistol outlived the Spanish gun, leading to the
5mm round taking Clement's own name.
This example is in very nice condition though with replacement magazine and grips. It has a perfect
mirror-like bore with strong rifling, strong recoil spring and
excellent action, backstrap magazine release, two-position safety,
blade front sight and v-notch rear sight.
The Clement is a slim elegant little automatic, very comfortable in the
hand and with excellent balance. In an old (not original) fitted case
with key. The inert round pictured is NOT included.
Overall length 5 1/4" Barrel length 2 3/4" N.B. This gun is also being advertised elsewhere and may be withdrawn before the scheduled closing date if a sale is secured Historical note:
Charles Clement's design became the basis of a generation of Smith
& Wesson semi automatic pistols after he took his design to the
States.
