Remington Type 1 Rolling Block Carbine.
This is a very rare Belgian test piece of which trials took place in 1869.
Tang marked- REMINGTONS ILION NY. USA. PAT MAY 30. NOV 16th 1864. APRIL
17th 1866. ELG proofs on barrel and Belgian proofs under barrel with
10.6mm. I have put 11mm cal which I think it is but it may be 11.15mm or .43 Spanish I am not sure with this being a test piece.
The cal is 11mm,(obsolete) serial number 406. with 37755 and 41456 under stock.
Very good rifling, good condition and working order.
