This is a nice Whitney pocket model percussion revolver. Second model, third type.
3 1/2" Octagonal barrel with brass foresight. Barrel address on the top flat reads " E.WHITNEY. N,HAVEN" Serial number on the bottom flat under the loading lever, which has the later Colt type catch. The screw holding the loading lever has been replaced with one that is slightly too short. 7 groove rifleing.
5 Shot .31 cylinder with good nipples.
Brass trigger guard.
Good walnut grips
Overall has been refinished, with blued barrel,Cylinder,loading lever and hammer. A plum ?? finish to the frame and backstrap, which is very attractive.
In good condition with working action. |
