This is a very large Unwin & Rogers Percussion Revolver in need of restoration.
A very popular gun with the Confederates at the back end of the Civil War.
This one is said to have been found at Gettysburg but there is nothing to confirm that.
Its a very very rare gun worth restoration, large 44 or 45cal, good
cylinder with one nipple broken. The action works in double action if
its pointed down, good main spring, the trigger guard is missing as is
the trigger spring. The rammer is missing and the grips are broken. 6"
barrel with English proof marks on barrel and cylinder, there are
signes of rifling and a lot of pitting which should clean out better.
The cylinder pin and on the inside of the grips are marked XV
Top of barrel frame marked UNWIN & ROGERS BIRMINGHAM & SHEFFIELD.
Side of frame marked ???? PATENT LONDON No 56669.
This is another gun I bought to restore but Arthritis took over so now I cant do it.
Please email for more info or pics. UK bidders only please.
This revolver has now been dismantled and cleaned, looks good, if I do anymore work I will have to put the price up.(see pics)
