A semi-automatic, or assisted opening knife, 8" long overall, with a 3 1/2" 440 steel blade. In having no switch, these are legal to own, buy and sell in the U.K., but otherwise are legal flick-knives. The blade is opened with a thumb stud, and only has to move a fraction of an inch before the mechanism takes over, firing the blade to full lock. This has a great advantage over normal lock-knives, and can be used in cold, wet conditions, even with gloves.
