Defender 89’ Five Shot .32 Rim Fire Pocket Revolver
A nice example of Hopkins & Allen’s Defender 89’.
Good working example with around 95 - 97% nickel remaining. No powder
burns to the front of the frame or cylinder, as normally encountered on
these models (which is a testimony to the little use this example has
seen), cylinder turns freely and the trigger and cylinder pin springs
are working fine. The only down side is that this model needs a hand
spring to push the hand to turn the cylinder.
Number 1769 stamped on the frame under the left hand grip, which makes this a comparatively early model.
Hopkins & Allen were major American arms manufacturers, circa 1868
to 1915 and produced a large range of spur trigger revolvers under
various “Trade Names”.
This is a very good example of one of their popular trade name revolvers and, unusually, in very good condition.
