A beautiful example of a late 19th Century “Suicide Special” revolver.
In .32 rimfire calibre with brown gutta percha grips and a 2 1/2 inch barrel. Perfect working order with solid lock-up and indexing.
Serial number is 595, stamped on the grip frame under the left hand grip, also 595 scratched into the underside of both grips makes this a very early model. All springs working perfectly.
This revolver has seen very, very little use, I doubt if it has had more than a handful of cartridges fired through it.
In absolutely excellent condition. None of the usual “plier” marks on the cylinder pin. The cylinder looks as good as the day it was manufactured, no signs of hammer marks on the cylinder. It almost appears to have not been fired, no black powder burns on what is a virtually unmarked cylinder.
Around 97% - 98% nickel showing, only usual age marking to the nickel, I hope the pictures tell the story.
“AETNA” was a “Trade” name used by Harrington and Richardson.
Harrington and Richardson Inc. of Worcester, Massachusetts, were founded in 1877, with its original arms being produced under the trade name "Aetna".
