MADE FROM 1872

This is one superb Webely RIC revolver. Called the R.I.C short for Irish Royal Constabulary becuase that is who the revolver was designed for.

It is the best of the early Webley made revolvers in my opinion.

This one is absolutly superb. The blueing has been rated at 70% original and is deep and shiney blue. All edges to the metal are crisp. All markings are perfect and crisp including the Webley winged bullet. The original checkerd grips have most of the original varnish with some light nicks on the wood. The wood to metal fit is superb, all the screwheads are superb and untouched, they also have the original case hardening on them in the hue you only seem to get on English made guns. The trigger, hammer, ejector rod and loading gate have all of the original nickel finish. Original lanyard ring is in palce, there is even some blue on the butt.

The action is superb, works perfect, totally as new. The bore is absolutly outstanding, it is totally unmarked mirror finish with superb rifleing, it looks unfired!!!!! This is rare on any gun but for a period blackpowder gun it is virtually unheard of! I can get over how good the bore is on this one!!!!!!!!!!!

Like all Webley revolvers it has several numbers on the frame. 36644 on the left side of the frame, what is a 3 above a 1 and then 131 on the left side of the frame and 15906 on the front of the frame, bear in mind all these numbers are stamped on exactly the same part (The frame) so i expect one is the gun number, one the issue number to a police force or whoever was issued the gun and lastly perhaps a batch number but the Webley experts out there might be able to tell us more!

In all this gun is perfect but for some wear and light scratches to the original blue and a few light nicks on the wood grips.

I personall have not found a Webley RIC revolver in this good condition and probabaly won't again. Totally original gun. Bid with confidence, this is the best i will ever get!
